LNG Center of Excellence: An industry-driven partnership between GTI Energy and McNeese State University
The LNG Center of Excellence, located on the McNeese State University campus in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is a collaborative training initiative designed to prepare a skilled, safety-focused LNG workforce.
Through an industry-driven partnership, GTI Energy and McNeese State University are developing modern, relevant LNG training aligned with real-world operations and evolving workforce needs. GTI Energy maintains a dedicated on-site presence, providing hands-on industry leadership and ensuring continuous alignment with LNG industry practices.

Program Vision
Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Liquefied Natural Gas (Planned)
- Program launch targeted for Q3 2026
- Fifteen (15) credit-hour certificate program

Proposed Course Structure
The following LNG course titles have been approved by the State of Louisiana and are planned for development:
- Fundamentals of Liquefied Natural Gas Processing
- Pipeline Design, Storage, and Transportation of Liquefied Natural Gas
- Liquefied Natural Gas Regulations and Hazard Management
- Liquefied Natural Gas Supply Chain Management
- Liquefied Natural Gas Environmental and Regulatory Aspects
How the Program Will Be Developed
With industry sponsorship and support, the LNG Center of Excellence will develop training content using modern instructional design approaches aligned with how today’s workforce learns and performs.
