Registered Gas Distribution Professional (RGDP)
Since 1996, GTI Energy’s Registered Gas Distribution Professional (RGDP) program has stood as a hallmark of excellence in training for the natural gas industry. Over the years, this respected certification has been awarded to hundreds of energy professionals, offering a rigorous and comprehensive educational experience rooted in the foundational theory and practical application of gas distribution engineering, operations, and auxiliary systems.
History and Legacy of the Program
GTI Energy launched the RGDP program to elevate professional standards in gas distribution. Since its inception, the program has evolved to meet the growing complexity of the energy landscape, while remaining grounded in industry best practices and regulatory guidance. Recognized across the industry, the RGDP credential signifies deep knowledge, practical readiness, and a commitment to safe, effective system operation.
Program Structure and Course Delivery
The RGDP certificate is earned by completing a structured curriculum of four courses:
- Three core courses that build essential skills and competencies.
- One elective course that allows participants to tailor their learning to specific interests or operational needs.
These courses are delivered by seasoned industry subject matter experts, bringing real-world insights and deep field experience to each session. Participants benefit from practical, relevant instruction that bridges theory and application in a way that’s immediately useful on the job.
GTI Energy offers flexible delivery options to accommodate professionals’ schedules and organizational needs:
- Onsite Training: The full RGDP program can be brought directly to your facility. Courses can be customized to reflect your operational environment, policies, and challenges.
- Open Enrollment Offerings: Professionals can register for sessions offered throughout the year via GTI’s calendar of open enrollment opportunities. These are available in in-person formats, live virtual training, and in some cases, self-paced online options.
Whether you're a utility operator, engineer, supervisor, or technician, the RGDP program provides a recognized pathway to elevate your expertise and contribute confidently to gas distribution system safety and performance.
