ASME B31Q is becoming a widely used document both nationally and internationally for entities needing to develop qualification programs for pipeline personnel. GTI Energy's ASME B31Q Pipeline Personnel Qualification Learning Series fills need for ASME B31 training. The Learning Series consists of three about 1 hour each eLearning courses.
This three-part eLearning series provides a technically grounded introduction to ASME B31Q, developed in collaboration between GTI Energy and Mike Burkhart, former Chair of the ASME B31Q Committee. Leveraging his direct leadership experience in the standard’s development and application, Burkhart delivers expert-level instruction tailored for organizations implementing or evaluating ASME B31Q qualification requirements.

Meet Your Instructor Mike Burkhart
Mike Burkhart is Principal of The Burkhart Group, Inc. and a recognized leader in the natural gas industry. He spent 32 years with Nicor Gas in Naperville, Illinois, where he held a variety of leadership and operational roles. Throughout his career, Mike has been actively involved in advancing workforce qualifications and industry standards, serving on several industry-wide Operator Qualification (OQ) committees. He is a former Chair of the ASME B31Q Committee, where he helped guide the development and implementation of qualification standards for pipeline personnel. In recognition of his significant contributions to the energy industry, Mike was inducted into the MEA Energy Association Hall of Fame.
