GTI Energy has partnered with the University of Texas at Austin to develop a linear motor reciprocating piston compressor for high pressure air and gas applications. These include air sampling onboard aircraft, high pressure gas compression for natural gas vehicles, and hydrogen compression. The technology has been successfully demonstrated and is suitable for applications up to 10,000 psi and several hundred horsepower. It is currently being scaled up to 50 SCFM capacity with UTD funding.
