Evaluating the Feasibility of Hydrogen Storage in Depleted Fields in Oklahoma’s Anadarko Basin

In the Disspatch H2: Developing and Investigating Subsurface Storage Potential and Technical Challenges for Hydrogen project, GTI Energy is assessing the feasibility of underground hydrogen storage complexes with funding support from the Department of Energy. The project aims to confirm the viability of utilizing depleted oil and gas reservoirs for hydrogen storage, determining potential storage capacities, timelines for implementation, operational strategies, and associated risks. It also includes planning for risk mitigation and monitoring, hydrogen sourcing and transportation logistics, analysis of contractual and regulatory requirements, economic feasibility assessments, and planning for field deployment. Creation of new job opportunities and the development of a potential workforce in the hydrogen storage industry are also anticipated.
