Together with universities, this public-private partnership brings together government entities, alongside motivated shale operators and service companies, and leverages each other’s investment into shale research, while taking advantage of in-house subject matter expertise.
Financial support for the project is provided by the US Department of Energy (DOE) through the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and Shell Exploration and Production Company are co-hosting the test site, and other service and producing companies are participating in this Joint Industry Project (JIP) as well.
